CARICAB MOBILE APP

The Virgin Islands Taxi Commission has approved the use of CARICAB for drivers to have the ability to take credit card payments from passengers. CARICAB turns your smartphone or tablet into a Digital Dispatch that will send you Passengers locations, when they request a TaxiCab ride.

BOOK A RIDE ON CARICAB?

CariCab is the brainchild of David Isles, who is a native of the Virgin Islands. He saw that public transportation needed an upgrade and decided to do something about it. The result was CariCab the VI’s very own homegrown RideShare service. Riders or Drivers simply download the CariCab app on their smartphone, register and within minutes are able to request a ride from a RideShare Taxi driver.

  1. Safe way to travel 24 hours, 7 days a week.
  2. Easy credit card payments.
  3. Never worry about having a designed driver.
  4. Carpooling can help alleviate traffic.

This next video shows you how the uber like functions work. This allows you to always be available to get an alert from the app telling you where the pickup location is, how many passengers, how many bags, and where the passengers want to be taken. You then go pick them up and drop them off and the payment is automatically deposited into your account once you tap the “End Trip” button:

This came up as the students asked if CC is competing with current licensed operators and medallion owners?

CariCab’s target market leans towards locals and or people staying on the island. Our drivers can only pick up riders who have requested a ride through the CariCab app. Street hailing for riders is strictly prohibited which makes CariCab Drivers compete less with current licensed operators and medallion owners and more with illegal Gypsy Taxis.

  1. Safe means of travel 24/7.
  2. Easy seamless credit card payment for all rides.
  3. Job creation in hiring drivers.
  4. Increased business clientele as residents can more easily go to events, bars, restaurants, etc. This will also increase jobs as businesses will need to hire more workers.
  5. Less drinking and driving in the territory.
  6. Carpooling can help alleviate traffic.
